Odessa Barbs
 

I have 8 small Odessa's but I cannot sex any of them. None of them are showing any color yet. Water parameters are within their desired range. I am wondering how long it will take for them to show their colors because I got them for the beautiful color pattern of the male. I have had them for about two weeks an they are probably less than a half inch long.

In the profiole of this species it mentions several things that can affect the fish's colouration. Low light, heavy planting; water parameters; type of foods. Also, depends upon their age, fish generally colour up as they mature a bit assuming things are to their liking.
