The wood which has been drifted in sea or river (water). Thats the simplest definition I can think of.
You can find alot of these by the sea or a river. I found mine near a river.

Driftwood are pieces of wood that has been water logged from being in bodies of water. Some pieces are dense enough to sink before being water logged. If you find wood to use in the wild, it should be boiled to make it safe for the tank, and usually you can find preoaked wood at LFS or high density wood for your tank.
