Could anyone tell me if this is a female or male?

Also, the store had it labeled as a Blue Gourami. Is this correct? Does that mean it is a Dwarf? I am a bit unsure of it's exact breed.

I'm pretty sure female gouramis are very pale, a browny-silver colour with not much else. Also, males have pointed dorsals and female rounded, from what I've been told. So I'd say yours is a male. Again, this is just what I've been told in the past ;)

So, one says male, one says female. Great! :P

i say male because of the two points at the end of its fins

That's a male dwarf gourami, no more, no less.;) As for females, they are simply drab or silvery in color.

I am pretty sure that fish is a female because males have the striped body. :D

I would say, because of the colour, that it is a male.

If you look a bit closer this fish is striped as well.

coming from a pet store employee I would have to agree with male on this one. It is definitely a dwarf gourami..a true blue gourami looks different. It almost looks like a powdered blue dwarf gourami but it has some orange striping of a regular dwarf gourami. Nevertheless, the majority of dwarf gouramis sold in stores are males because frankly, they are a lot prettier than the females :-)
