Quick protein skimmer q

If I have a 10 gallon tank do I need a protein skimmer? It will have a fuge with cheato and a bubble trap(LR and Live sand) If I do need a skimmer how should I go about making one?(I have an airpump lots of tubing and an airstone with other misc stuff) or would it be cheaper to buy? I would rater make.

Thank you in advance

for a 10 you dont really need a skimmer (depending on bio-load) but i would just google DIY skimmer to see some ideas and then modify them to your liking or get a HOB skimmer....

I agree, you don't really need a skimmer on such a small tank. That being said, I would probably just make a very small internal skimmer. You could use a small piece of PVC, drill a couple of holes, and insert a wooden air stone. I've also made these tiny skimmers out of "uplift tubes" from old u/g filter systems. The wide uplift tubes work best.

where would I find a wooden airstone? I have normal ones but no wooden ones.
