Snails - Alive or Dead?
So as some of you may have heard I have been getting a series of aquariums from different people who don't use them anymore. About 10 minutes ago I started setting up a ten gallon tank that I had received with a fine natural color gravel. I cleaned the tank and the gravel, then got the gravel on the bottom and filled it with water. I saw something that looked like floating gravel and it actually turned out to be snails. I have taken them out and put them in a small Tupperware container until I have figured whether they are alive or dead, I'm sure there are a lot of other snails still in the container and they range from very small to the size of a finger nail. I have no idea how long the gravel has been sitting nor if its been damp so I have no clue whether the snails are alive or dead
soon you will since their in a container.are you planning on keeping them?
if they are alive of course, but it seems to me that they aren't but there may still be some in the substrate I will know soon
Maybe try putting some food for them in a cornor and see after a few hours who goes for it.
