dp eye wrinkles
there needs to be a section of this site devoted to puffers seeing how many posts they get..anyway eye wrinkles... its supposed to be a way of sexing the fish but im not sure what im looking for one has the sort of bags under the eyes look is that it?
daisy - i found this:
There are slight differences in the markings between sexes but available details may vary amd in some cases may not reperesent gender differences. Males may show a brownish line on their stomacj from the "throat" through to the anal fin. Females are generally rounder in body shape. These differences will probably not be apparent in juveniles."
sorry i cant help with the wrinkley eyes, but hopefully this will be of some help to you
ive heard of the eye wrinkles too, was the first thing i found. one of mine is very green with apparent black markings. the other which i assume is male is more dull and has the eye wrinkles. which do look like baggy eyes under his eyes.
one of mine has the hangover look he/she is also more yellow than the others
those naughty dwarf puffers and their late night parties.
DP's are amongst the easiest of the puffs to sex correctly, you won't get many clues until they reach around 6 months, males will develop the brown line which runs from under the bottom jaw the length of the belly, also the "wrinkles" develop behind the eye and are very discernable.
FYI, I am very new to this particular site, looks pretty cool to me and I aim to contribute, however there are a couple of specialist puffer sites out there, guess it would not be etiquette to post details here but they are not hard to find !!
ive viited those sites just cofirming things oh that and having something to talk about
