kitten_penang 09-04-2010 08:08 AM

electronfish 09-04-2010 10:40 AM

tanx!

what about the swordtail ang molly?

kald 09-04-2010 10:52 AM

Molly and platy? I highly *highly* doubt it.

Swordtail x Platy
Platy x Variatus
Guppy x Endler

Those are the only ones I know that can make non-sterile young. I love my swordtail hybrids. The father was a blue tuxedo platy and the mother a berlin swordtail. The hybrids have a deep dark red colour with a black tuxedo and black fins and a slight green shimmer in certain lights. Beautiful.

Guppies will cross with Mollies as well, but Platys, only with swords.

Considering they're from a different genus and have different water conditions, it's about as likely as crossing a chihuahua and a kodiak bear. :)

Platies and Swordtails will cross breed because they are from the same family but not mollies and platies.
