I Got My Babies! Hey guys, I went to the LFS yesterday to get the fish for the 135 and they happened to have a batch of Polleni! I have been watching for this fish all summer. So I picked up a JD, Jaguar, Synspilum and a Polleni. These guys are all about 2" with the Polleni just slightly smaller. They are in QT until the 135 is ready, hopefully in a couple weeks. Here's some crappy pics. Here's the JD http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN3542.jpg Jaguar cichlid http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/q...gJag090210.jpg Synspilum (still confirming the ID) http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN3590.jpg http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/DSCN3558.jpg Didn't get a good pic of the Polleni but here's a crappy vid of 3 of them in QT (JD is in another tank by itself) http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSCN3588.jpg |
Not a crappy vid at all. Congrats on the new fish. What's more fun than getting new fish? ;-) I thought Jaguars were mean as all get out and can't be housed with anyone else safely? Or maybe I'm thinking of a different fish? He certainly looks mean, but in a good way! |
Yes, they are mean. It's really hit or miss with them getting along with other cichlids. There's a better chance of this by getting them young, introducing them to the tank all at once and growing them up together. Only time will tell. My LFS has a pair of spawning Jags in their big display tank with a bunch of other cichlids. |
nice family members you have there |
