heyho new to the forum am i about to overload my tank?

okay i got a 55 gallon and am currently cycling this bad boy so... after alot of deliberation and reading i have decided on-

-1 firemouth cichlid
-1 convict cichlid
-1 jewel cichlid
-1 Kissing gourami
-1 bristlenose pleco

is that too much? there are so many opinions in various literature and almost every person i have spoken to contradicted the other so i wanted to pass it on to you guys. now if theres room how much more do you think i could fit in there? any schooling species that are compatible with those fishys?

wasnt sure were to post this but considering my main focus is cichlids i thought it appropriate :-) though if your answers to my last question included an inferior non-cichlid species that would be appreciated

How about a pair of Firemouths with a group of Swordtails and possibly a Convict.

I think the either the Jewel is going to kill everything. Also some are African and some are SA or CA... Pretty sure they have different parameter requirements as well... Someone who knows more should be alone shortly

just a quick note to you if you end up getting one convict and one firemouth and they happen to be opposite sex, they will most likely breed creating hybrids.... and many people discourage hybridizing fish.
