i have a 20 gallon tank which has 6 pearl danios, 2 cories, and 1 kuhli loach in it.... i was thinking of adding a red-tailed shark.. does this work?... i no how red-tailed sharks are.. and i was just wondering if it would be compatible with the fish i already have.
A 20G tanktoo small for a Red Tailed Shark, most people recommend nothing smaller than a 55G tank for one of these. They also do well with caves or other areas to hide in, but they definitely will be way to cramped in a 20G tank. When fish are put into tanks which aren't right for them, they develop all sorts of internal problems and will lead to a short life span.
Instead of a RTS, I would look at adding 4 more corries to your tank, they are schooling fish and enjoy being in groups of atleast 6
Kuhlis also do best in a shoal, a solo kuhli is a lonely kuhli.
I agree completely. A Red Tail Shark should be in no smaller then a 4 foot long tank. They also can be aggressive with tank mates though that varies from individual to individual. I too would add more of the Cory's. I find them to be so fascinating, I wish I could get some but I have a Rainbow Shark and don't want dead Cory's.
