SICK GUPPIES? =/
i have just lost over half of my guppies due to what i think was a nitrite spike, and now the four survivors are swimming and breathing fine, but their tails are folded up and not fanned out like how it usually is. Does anyone know what this could possibly mean or anything i can do to help them get better?
I have a 10gallon tank set to 70-72F and have cleaned out 20% of the water and have a the filter running with a new carbon filter pad.

What are your water parameters? Pls post the exact figures. We need to know what exactly is wrong. Do 10-15% daily water change if you have detectable level of ammonia and nitrites. If nitrates exceed over 40 ppm, a large water change followed by small water changes done daily will be necessary.
Clamped fins may indicate something wrong with your water parameters, possibly ammonia or nitrite poisoning. Use API Freshwater Master test kit to determine your water parameters. They're accurate in case you haven't gotten the API.
Also, may I ask when was the last time you bought new fish? What are the other occupants of the tank?

i am sort of new to the fish raising thing and i'm not exactly sure what the exact parameters are. There are no other occupants. they are all guppies. i bought two new guppies about a week ago and so far they are the most healthy. The rest, i raised from since they were 1 month old.

You'll need the API Freshwater Master test kit.:) Check your ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH. All 4 of these are very important.:)

Try putting some aquarium salt into the tank also. They like a little salt in the water and that will also help if there's some type of disease in the tank. Just don't go overboard!!
