Angle fish Q
my angle only has 1 fin ray comming of off his chest will it grow back?
i would think it would but the guy at the fish shop told me that it would not?
i thinks so might have a scar. some people dont no what there talking about at the lfs
and yeah i hear that ^
I got this picture from the web...
If it's the ventral fin, then yes, it will grow back.
If it's the pectoral fin, it may. I got mine with damaged pectoral fin, thinking it was damage from fighting, but it never repaired itself. It still swims with no problems.
ventral fin thats the 1, it's 100 gone not even a little bit there.
Then yes, it for sure will grow back. I noticed one of my angels had one ventral fin shorter than the other. Odd, since I didn't know which fish could have done it, besides than the other angel. Although, the other angel only really just chases and pushes. Anyways, I did notice that it grew back to equal the size of the other.
There is a good chance it won't grow back. It might not have ever been there in the first place. Lacking one or both ventral fins is a common deformity in young Angels. If this is the case, the breeder should have culled the fish early on.
