My new to me 55 Gallon Tank...
Yesterday I called my wonderful big brother that got me started keeping fish 23 years ago and he asked me if I would like to buy his 55 gallon tank from him for $30.00 he is moveing into a much bigger place and is going to get a bigger one later on. So I of course said heck yes I want to buy it! I got the tank, the stand, two filters, lights, hood, rocks a big piece of drift wood, and some other decorations that I did not use all for just $30.00! I was so excited! I went home took apart 2 of my 20 gallon tanks and moved fish and plants as well as gravel from one of the tanks to the new one. I moved the gravel from one of my 20 gallons to the new one, as well as the sponges from the filters and a piece of driftwood so the new tank would have the bacteria. I am kind of nervous about moveing the plants I hope they do ok they had been in the other tanks for about a year and some of them had some really long roots. I tried to move them with out damageing any of the roots or leaves. So here is the picture and a short video I will upload more tomorrow of the fish so you guys can see them to. Right now it is home to 6 Neon Tetra, 4 Golden Barb, 2 Honey Sunset Gourami (male/female), 2 Peacock Gudgeon. I would like to add maybe 6-7 Corydoras, 2 more golden barbs, and maybe 8 Harliquin Rasbora. What do you guys think? I am also open to other fish suggestions you guys may have. So far everyone seems to be very happy in there new home the peacock gudgeons are much more active I think they may feel safer do to the increase in plants. So anyway here you go sorry its kind of long but I am really happy I finally got a tank like this.
$30!!That's a good brother!
Wow! Your bro gave you a great deal! Congrats on the new tank. I think the Harlequins will be a nice fit for that tank.
thanks for sharing the pics =) and wow you have a wonderful brother.wonder what the 30 buck was for??? nvm it's not for me to ask any way coz i would have gave him 60 bucks for the tank hehehehehe
I told him that I would give him the $30 that way my little sister would not get mad that he gave it to me instead of her. She thinks everyone should always give her everything. :-?
