water testing and changing
I'm fixing to display my newbie ignorance...
I know I need to test the water and change the water weekly in my tank, but do I test the water before or after I change it? Or do I need to test it on a different day?
Hi crt, if you test before and after you will get a clearer picture of where you were and where you ended up, I find keeping a log book to be VERY helpful when your new to it all, you can see where things change over time and what might have caused it, good luck
^ I agree do it before so you can know what the water was at, its helpful to see what the problem is before you dilute it and can't see it anymore.
Thanks for the information. I'll be sure to do that. I've been testing nearly every day so far because the ammonia levels were bad for awhile (that's normal I'm told) and I wanted to make sure everything stayed evened out. I think I'll be comfortable going to weekly testing now though.
