Java Fern - Reproduction

I have a java fern in my betta's tank and it has already created 4 daughter plants that have gone into another tank. I was wondering how often a java fern will create daughter plants?

Ever since I got mine 3 months ago it hasn't stop, I probably have close to 10 on it. Only one so far has broken off though.

I got mine not too long ago. Maybe a month or so ago. It sprouted about 5. I pulled them gently off with their roots intact and so far they are still fine. Green leaves and nice long roots. I'll be getting something for them to attach to later tonight as I read they like to drift until they find something to attach their roots too.

I heard of people using small lava rocks so you can move them around the tank as you see fit, I would if those for use in BBQs would work?

Thanks! You have been really helpful! :-D

I'm sure the lava rocks for bbq's would be fine since they're just plain old lava rock, but you could probably buy lava rock cheaper in a garden center.
(Or I've picked a couple rocks up when I saw a restaurant decorating with them lol)
