Wonderful plants, they almost look fake they are so perfect. The red is really striking against the green, great work. :-)

Nice, what's your setup? (light wattage, co2, fert schedule)

All of my red plants turn green except ludwigea, and it's only red under the leaves.

Thanks guys for the comment :D

Here's a brief stat:
Tank size: 2x1x1 in (LWH) approx 15 USgal
Light: 2x 55watt PLL 6400K and 1x T5HO 24watt 10,000K...total = 134watt
Pressurized CO2 at 1-2 bps
No fert :D

Ok, I know my light is way too much for that small tank, but I was doing it for the glosso, and I didn't expect that the blyxa will turn to blood red :D

holy carp!!! your fish have got to be blind with that much light!!!!

borneosucker 07-30-2010 06:21 AM

Hi I like the red blyxa
Have seen this once before and it was being dosed with very high levels of iron and co2 and other ferts
how long has the tank been set up as with that much lighting I would assume there to be large algae problems and also growth problems eventually due to lack of fertz

This tank is about 6 month old :D
It was only this week that the bunch of blyxa turn red. I was away for about a week, and when I came back, I was surprise at the changes :D
And nope, there's no algae problem ;-)

Now that is a beautiful plant! I can't wait for my plants to fill out a little more. That fully planted tank look is just unbeatable in it's natural beauty.
