test result questions

so i tested my tank last night and i just want to make sure everything is ok.

ph = 8.0
ammonia = 0.8 mg/L
nitrate = 10 mg/L
nitrite = 0.4 mg/L
alkalinity = 3.0mEq/L

the tank has been set up for 14 days, with fish in it for about 9 days.

is there anything i need to worry about with my test results?

and how will i know when it is cycled?

Theres alot you need to worry about. There should be no ammonia or nitrite. For the nitrate it can be 20 or below. The alkalinity is to low should be between 8-11. How big is your tank and how many fish are there? Yur tank will take about 6-8 weeks to cycle. What you can do to not let this be a problem is monitor the water and do water changes. I would do a water change today. Any trace amounts of ammonia is bad for the fish.

yeah, and you ph should be around 8.4 if you ask me, unless ou had 8 when it was the middle of the day. SO DO A WATER CHANGE

i was told i shouldn't do a water change till my tank is cycled.
so i should do one today?

also according to my test kit directions it says alkalinity should be between 2.5-4.0 mEq/L

if there are fish in your tank you should do a water change for them, if there are no fish then no water changes during cycling
