test result questions
so i tested my tank last night and i just want to make sure everything is ok.
ph = 8.0
ammonia = 0.8 mg/L
nitrate = 10 mg/L
nitrite = 0.4 mg/L
alkalinity = 3.0mEq/L
the tank has been set up for 14 days, with fish in it for about 9 days.
is there anything i need to worry about with my test results?
and how will i know when it is cycled?
Re: test result questions
yeah, and you ph should be around 8.4 if you ask me, unless ou had 8 when it was the middle of the day. SO DO A WATER CHANGE
i was told i shouldn't do a water change till my tank is cycled.
so i should do one today?
also according to my test kit directions it says alkalinity should be between 2.5-4.0 mEq/L
if there are fish in your tank you should do a water change for them, if there are no fish then no water changes during cycling
i searched around online and read what you said.
so i just did a water change. the water looks much better, i'm gonna test it again tonight.
i'm still new to the saltwater thing.
its ok, we all start somewhere. thats what we are here for, to help. :)
