Mollies and guppies
 

so i think for my 5 gallon cube i am going to put a cool guppy (male) and 2-3 molly (females) in the tank and try to cross breed them.anyone think this would be cool?

(all color suggestions for fish accepted)

cool??? whats with that.if the fry grew into a nice strain (very unlikely/ impossible with one trial ) it would be an accomplishment.good luck

Mollies get a little large for a five-gallon tank. And since guppies breed prolifically, it might be better to have only a few of the same sex in there, so they don't overpopulate the small tank and strain the bioload or overcrowd one another.

I will go further than Jclee, mollies get much to big for a 5 gallon tank.
The experiment may work. There are spotty reports of mollies and guppies crossing. The problem you have is your tank is just too small to breed a molly with anything, it is small for the molly.

it would be cool to cross breed..like everyone said to many mollys for that small tank
