:???: I bought a pregnant Platy about 3 weeks ago and she dropped fry 2 weeks ago, but her belly never went down and she has a big gravid spot. She shows all the signs of platys about to pop; racing around looking for a spot, etc. Since she just gave birth could she just be fat or can I expect more fry in about 2 weeks?

maybe she didnt let them all go...or maybe shes fat..the gravid spot may be the hole answer and i think if its still black and has eyes shes not done yet and could let them go at any time

Is it possible she would hold onto them 2weeks? I would think they would die?
Also, does the gravid spot disappear after birth? Because hers never did which makes me suspect a pregnancy. I'm so confused!

no they carnt "keep them in" but she mite just be a larger female and getting ready to have fry again in and around 2 weeks :):):)...sometimes with bigger females they dont loose the "fattness" but she should be ok :):):)

Your female probably dropped all the fry she was carrying in a fairly short time. In about 2 more weeks, maybe slightly longer, she will do it again.
