Water test results??????
i am currently running my new tank through it cycle and have just purchased a water test kit. The results are as follows:-
nitrate between 40 and 80
How much water should i take off? And is the cycle near its end? When can i put new fish in?
Welcome to the forum, Andrew.
Are you running a fishless cycling?:) How long has the tank been cycling?
You'll need to zero ammonia and nitrites in the end of cycling to be able to place your new fish.:)
i have a few black neon tetras in at the mo. i'm just consered about the nitrate level. i have a 125l tank. should i do a water change and how much?
A big water change by 50-60% should reduce the nitrates, ammonia and nitrites. Andrew, ammonia and nitrites are also something to be concern of.:) Both are toxic to the fish.:)
Do 10-15% water change daily after the big water change to make sure ammonia and nitrites do not increase or you'll only lose your fish.
your amonia is really very high. id recomend changing half of the water right away because the level of amonia will be harmful to your tetras, then keep doing smaller water changes every couple of days
...you beat me to it blue lol
thanks alot for that. What is the tank requirements (tank size) for discuss fish. I really like them but unsure about the size of tank they need. Mine is a 125l.
