What kind of Cichlid is this?
 
I have bought the following cichlid - but no body knows the name - and I can not find it

the only think i know is that it is not a Tilapia Cichlid cause I have lots of Adults and Juvenile of them

please help me know this -

I don't know a lot about fish but the fish I did have in the past was Banded Convicts and that definitely looks just like them. Fun little fish, they are quite interesting to watch. Mine kept having babies though. :o

That looks like a young severum to me.

It does look like a severum - I have a young gold one, and that has exactly the same shape as mine.

This is a seven bar midas cichlid.

Definatly looks like a young severum. The shape and faded bars are a dead give away. Convicts have more distinct black and white to thier bars even when young.

Yes, now that I've seen it in a pet shop, it IS in fact a Severum also known as the Deacon Cichlid.

Yea after i looked at it again the shape of the head does look like a severum.
