Mostly Bare 125 Gallon Tank
This is my first post on these forums but I am not a newbie and am rather knowledgeable about fish care. I currently have a bare 125 gallon tank sitting in my living room and was very interested in devoting it to breeding some type of cichlid species. Due to expenses I am planning on keeping it mostly bare(it does contain a 1" layer of gravel) and was wondering if there are any cichlid species that would thrive in such an austere setting(I may have a couple of decorations and of course flowerpots for the spawning surface/niche). Alternatively I would just fill it up with guppies. Thanks for your advice in advance!
what are your water stats? Are there any in particular you like or are intrested in?

The p.H is about 7.6 and the water is hard. I'm interested in any type of fish at all that would work for this type of setup. If the species happens to be of a smaller size, any that are docile enough to be kept in groups considering the size of this tank would be nice.
Could someone move this thread to the main forums? Now that I've pondered it some more, I think I'm looking for any type of fish that would breed well in the given setup, not just cichlids. I believe my questions would be better addressed there.
