55 Gal Stock Suggestions?
 

Ok so the GF got me a 55 gallon for my birthday. I had told her how i was thinking about getting an Oscar and how it would need 55 gallons minimum. I probably wont set it up for a while but I was wondering if you had any other stocking suggestions for me. Im not 100% about the Oscar and if someone else has a good idea I may go eith that instead.

i read oscars are messy they poop a lot lol most predatory fish are. not very sure what you like but first planted or non planted tank? whats the filtration like? less messy fish and planted =normal filtration or no filtration.predators needs more water changes = more work

Well as of now I have a brand new Aqueon Quietflow 30 so I was thinking of getting another one of those and having both of them for it. As far as planting goes I wasnt sure if I was going to because I know Oscars will pull them out. Ive also been thinking about maybe a Senegal Bichir instead of the Oscar.

sengal bichir is a nice fish.quite aggressive it seems.only to be kept with other larger species of fish

sengals does well in a planted tank and it wont redecorate like oscars

Yea I was thinking that if I went with a senegal then I would also get a few Cichlids, not sure what type yet, and a Bristlenose Pleco.

nice =) i like bristle nose pleco but they are expensive over here.
