How Magnesium is related to Alk and Ca?
I was reading an article recently which makes me think I should really get a Mag test kit and consider dosing Mag if its below 1280 or so. The article basically said that if Mag isn't in a good place there is no point to dosing for Alk or Ca since it will not have much effect if the Mag levels are out of wack.
Do you guys agree? If so can you please recommend Magnesium test kits and or supplements that you use and like.
salifert test and kent mag
If I am having trouble increasing my Ca and Alk despite regularly dosing B ionic 2 part low Mag is a possible reason right? I ordering the Salifert test kit and Kent Tech M now.
My Ca stays fairly steady at 400-420 and my Alk right around 8.5-9. I'm getting to a point where I have nearly everything I want in my tank and I just wanna get everything right for optimal growth and health. I would prefer to get my Ca up to the 450 range.
if i had to guess i would say mag as your levels are "ok" but could be slightly raised.
