Bears surprise 50!!!!!!!!!! pix heavy 20 Attachment(s) ok so i told you all i was getting a 40 breeder right? well we discovered that the "stand" i was using was not able to hold the tank well enough so we braced it and got looking for a new stand.... NONE would fit my "40 galon breeder" so i hit a calculator sight and... SURPRISE its a 50 gallon .... WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Oo. this explaines why i had to mix up a bit more water than anticipated (i thought i just did the math wrong dohhhuuuu) so the following posts will be the tank as it looks in this moment and i will continue to document the progress as things move along... now as promised the new FIFTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh yeah all of this after i get the stand either fixed or replaced LOL.. |
finally the beast is built!!!! the moron mistake i made was to put this monster tank on a dresser (BTW not a good idea) and it sagged the dresser about 3" and almost crushed it! we noticed this last night before bed.... looked around and could not find one in my price range so after some careful planning with my better half we hit the hardware store on a whirl wind tour for supplies and built "the Beast" the stand came out great IMHO and now that everything is finally done i can sit back and enjoy watching my tank take on new life. so to recap the last few weeks- 29 gallon wipe out found a great deal on a "40 gallon breeder" tank found out it was really 50 gallons durring all of this put a hole in the wall for plumbing built sump acquired skimmer (thank you you know who you are) put WAY to much rock in my sump for cleaning (it came out great BTW looks much better than before) made hanging light fixture basically crushed a dresser and had to shore up tank over night ran to get supplies built stand finally put all my water back in and have sump dialed in cleaned glass and now posting here LOL oh yeah mix in a little work, house work and my children and you have a great excuse to visit guys in white coats and take skittles all day LOL next post pix of stand and a few FTS for fun LOL |
