If you have a spare tank, I would suggest you make it a rearing tank. Run it with a sponge filters. Avoid powerheads as they can suck and damage the fry.
I would suggest separating the fry from their parents once they become free-swimming. Liquid food should be available in your area otherwise you may try to run a tank/bucket to produce green water which you can squirt to the shoal of fry with a medicine dropper. The other one I had used is pinching a bit of egg yolk and mix with a glass of water. Then squirt it to the fry with a medicine dropper.:)
You may add some riccia to the rearing tank as riccia carries microorganisms which the fry can forage on.

i am currently in the process of separating the babies from the parents.... thing is ive pulled the babies out and put them into a breeder net hanging off the side of the tank, now the parents can still see them and keep tryin to get them out of the net(ie they keep biting at the net as if to pick them up and move them)
will the parents forget about them soon or should i be worried about stress?

and another question, if i leave some of them with the parents cos they are good at dodging me will they eat them?

I have "rearing" tanks that range in size from 2 1/2g to 15g long aquariums. The tanks are spartan to say the least. No gravel, just a heater(maybe) and a sponge filter. Some do have live plants, mostly elodea, to give the young a little security, but it is not really neccessary.
