The World Cup
 

I'm not the biggest soccer (or football for the rest of the world) fan out there, but I figured some of you guys out there have gotta be watching the World Cup so I figured I'd get a conversation going about it. What teams are you cheering for? What do you think of those vuvuzelas (personally I think they're ridiculously noising, and I'm a fan of drone music!)?

Well Im in South Africa and yes those vuvzelas are noisy, very noisy. Thats why you get ear plugs to wear when going to see a match.
Vuvuzelas are not only in the stadiums, its in the streets, trains, busses everywhere someone is blowing their vuvuzela. In the beginning it was fun now its becoming irritating.
What an experience for a country to present the world cup. And to be part fo it. Great.
And Im not even a soccer fan. Rugby is rather my line of sport.

I think those horns are annoying!!

I understand the idea of them and it's an african tradition, but they can be a hassle for TV viewers.

As for, I'm allllll about the repeat baby!! As you can see in my avatar from the 2006 world cup, I'm rooting for my ancestorial country....Italy.

and i think our goalie was a dissapointment.
the only up side to it,is i get to go out friday night,as the guys will
be watching the match,and us girlies will be having a drinkie or 6 :-D

I feel so bad for that guy. He's really going to catch it back home if hijinks like that prevent England from leaving their group.

Italy needs to beat New Zealand on sunday....we need a win!

Very strange that Australia tied with Ghana, who beat Serbia, who in turn beat Germany, who had previously stomped the Aussies 4-0.
