Anyone use one of these?Considering one for my 50g to use as the intake on my filter just wondering the pros and cons.

I use one on my 55gal. It doesn't burn my caecilians like the glass ones do. It did fail at around 6-8 months, but rena replaced it for me after I shipped it back. So far so good with the second one.

i've a 200w on my 47 gal. Seems good. The only con is that i'd say its pretty bulky both in length and width. Its almost touching the sand as i've got it positioned vertically (i know this isn't ideal). it is good tho cos you don't have to switch it off when changing water and is allegedly indestructable

I have the Rena smartheater on all three tanks. (I have the xp filters as well). I think you don't need as high a wattage for the heaters as with others. They are doing a good job and so far, no failures.

I have the XP filter on my 37g and am getting one for my 50 as well. What watt heater do you use on your 56.I'm also planning on getting one for my 37 and keep the heater I have now for backup.I like the idea of a less cluttered tank without wires and too much stuff in it.
