Please ID this plant for me...

I got it at the LFS Thursday when I got my Bolivian Rams. The lady told me its name but I forgot what it is. She also told me it is a low light plant and can either float or be stuck in the gravel. I hope she told me right about the plant because she told me wrong things about the Rams. I really like the way it looks in my tank and my betta girls love swimming in and out of it. I hope it can stay stuck in the gravel like I have it.

Anacharis aka Brazilian Waterweed aka Elodea

I love this stuff cause it just doesn't quit growing.

And yes, you can use it as a floating plant, planted in the substrate, or both. ;-)

That stuff is awesome it keeps on growing. Just make sure you trim it a bit if it grows too big.

Good I was hopeing she had told me right. When it grows can I take the trimmings and put it in other tanks and it grow?

Yup I do that all the time. I started with a single plant and now I have 3 tanks planted with this stuff. The plant will actually start to seperate into another strand. Thats when I usually trim them and seperate them.

Thank you. I got about 8 strands for $4.00 the other day and some of them have what you are talking about as far as other plants branching out. I want it to grow long so it will float across the top of the tank then I plan on trimming and moveing into other tanks. My betta girls love it and I plan on putting some in all my tanks.
