Has any one ever kept these cute little guys? I saw them at the LFS this week and am thinking I might like to get a group of 6 or so and maybe some ghost shrimp to put into the 10 gallon tank I will be moveing my Bolivian Rams from. Nut I want to learn more about them first. Here is a picture of the tank they would go into. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.
They are cute little fish. Pretty simple, no special needs. Mine have proved to be very hardy since they were the only fish that survived my main tank crashing.
Thank you. I love there color and I think they will look really good with my dark gravel and plants.
Yes, they will sparkle with a dark substrate in your planted 10g. I have 11 in my 90g. You can read more about them in our fish profile, click on the shaded name to go there, Hyphessobrycon amandae. I would get 8 or 9 for your 10g; they are one of the few "dwarf" tetras.
Would it be ok to put 8-9 as well as a few ghost shrimp as bottom cleaners?
My water hardness is around 8, ph stays around 6.8 so that should work for the tetras I will do more research on the shrimp before I get them. Thank you again now I just hope she still has them when I am off work this week on Wednesday.
