Is it Ok to stock an fish only aquarium with live rocks??
I do not have a protein schemer.I have heared that to keep live rocks the temparature must be down.Is it true??
What is the maximum level of temparature??
Thanks for the reply..........
First... How long have you had the tank?
How large is the tank?
What type of live rock?
How much live rock?
What kind of fish?
What is your current temp?
I have the tank since 15th September.
It is 110litre.
In India only one type of liverock is found.I dont know the name.
About 2-4Kg of live rock.
Clowns and damsel.
Substrate is Shell Dust.
I have a thermostat which is now at 28-30 Celcius.
Okay.... just to verify here and to make things easier for people in the US.
Here is what I believe the similar measures are
110 litre= 30 gallons?
4kg would be about 9 pounds I think?
Do you have something that actually tells the temperture? (exact)
Right now from what I understand it's 82-86?
Also..... you can add live rock. But you have to cure in a seperate container.
I'm not sure but you should be able to find instructions for this somewhere.
I have a tank with liverock, and it's 80F and the live rock is fine.
A temperture of 86 would be very high, and I wouldn't suggest it.
Thank U for your answer.
i have 130 litre tank with about 30kgs of live rock now, i dont have a protien skimmer or proper lighting but its still a must cause of its filtration propertys
i dont see it as a must, it isnt needed in saltwater tanks since its just porous material, you could use glass foam or something in place of it. The reason why most people get it is since it has many invertebrate all over it as well as already filled with bacteria most of the time, and if lucky it might even have some corals on it. It also contains beneficial coraline algae.
