80 gallon tank suggestions

I got a new 80 gallon tank of craigslist for a really good deal. It came with everything. Stand, tank, 2 60 gallon rated aquatech HOB filters, declor food, a whole bunch of other odds and ends. It is going to take some work to get it all looking nice. The guy tried to silicon it and just really ****** it up, it looks horrible. I will be re-doing that. I want this tank to be a planted tank and I was wondering if it would look better to do a biotope or a mixed planted tank. My dad wants to have a gold severum, some bala sharks (not for their whole life though) and clown loaches. As far a plant scape what would you suggest? What other fish could I have in the tank? Also the tank came with 3 10,000K 48" T8 bulbs. Do I really need to use 6500K for plants or can I use these? The tank dimensions are 48' long 24' high and 14" deep.

Severums, bala sharks, and clown loaches will all make keeping live plants difficult.
Severums will nibble at plants and loaches and sharks will uproot the plants while rooting around the substrate in search of food.
Some folks have kept Severums in planted tanks without issues ,but I feel it worth mentioning that they do consider plant matter a part of their diet.

I would include a group of smaller schooling fish like danios to add activity to the upper levels. As for plant eating, I would just avoid the more expensive plants if that becomes a problem.

Yah I plant to do that. I don't really like danios so I will pick something else. Do you guys know of a good place to buy gravel 2 milimeters thick for a planted tank?
