drip acclimation

I'm about to start buying corals and anemones to put in my tank. I need an explanation of how to drip acclimate them. I am planning on using a drip acclimator from drs foster and smith. I need to know how to do it though. Thanks.

dont buy any drip acclimating product, all you need is some airline tube, start the siphon, tie a knot, the tighter the knot the less drops, the looser the knot the more drops. The more weaker fish/invertebrate should use a tight knot (1-2 drips per second) and stronger fish/invertebrate could use a looser know (3-4) but 1-2 is still recommended for all fish and corals

Instead of the knot. You can use one of the air line regulaters to control the flow of the drips.

Ive always just used a knot..

With a air line regulater it is easier to control the drips.

I agree, a $1 air valve is much simpler. And it's techy cool. I buy these little ones from HDepot for about 50 cents over in the lawnsprinkler section. They fit airline and are a little black valve that works perfect. Know what's really cool? Those 3 or 4 way gang regulators for air pumps when you have several fish or corals from different sources. You can drip acclimate them all at once using different rates or whatever all from the same source.

..."knotting" to it...

Ok, I might do that, or I might just buy the thingamabob. It's only like a dollar or two anyway. I don't know, but thanks for the help.
