Neon Tetra EMERGENCY!
Ahh! I came home yesterday to find one of my neons really injured! His tail is basically gone. The back half of him is looking bad. I dont see any open wounds though. I think someone/thing attacked him. I put him in a breeder net to keep him alone. He made it through the night, but hes not eating. Also, his tail is higher than his head and hes close to the surface. He moves around every once in a while.
What should I do!?!? I don't want him to suffer!
Sorry to hear that. It sounds like he may have been attacked. What other fish do you have in your tank?
It sounds like there's probably some internal damage - and if the injury is that bad, then personally I would euthanise the fish.
Consider it done.
How do I do it without that oil stuff? I can't eactly wait for it in the mail...
Here's a sticky on ways of euthanising fish
It's never pleasant to do, but unfortunately necessary at times.
You can probaly get clove oil at the store, if not health food stores, possibly even pharmacies may have it.
