Jewels are excellent parents
I don't know about other cichlids but it is amazing to see how the jewels protect their young. i can sit and watch them for hours. the little ones wants to start exploring but as soon as they stray to far the jewels races after him, sucks him in and come spits him out with the others. i would like to know if i can move them to a fry tank (th ekind that hangs inside the tank). isn't it cruel towrds the parnets to take the little ones away?
i know nothng about breeding cichlids poohbeah, but why would you want to take them away if the parents are looking after them so well anyway?
i kept the little ones with their parents until yesterday. i remove the male and placed him in a fry net inside the tank because he was starting to attack the male. i read that apparently the male loses interst in the little one and wants to breed again. obviously the female will want to look after her young and is not interested in his agendas, so he turn violent.
oh dear - thats not so nice. well as long as everyone is fine now. i hope you dont have to keep him in there too long
