Quarantine Tank

I was thinking about setting up a quarantine tank. Would you be able to set one up like the following:
-10g tank
-Internal filter
-Dusting of gravel
-Ghost shrimp

I don't see why not, just be aware that the fish ut into quarantine might eat the shrimp. The shrimp will help keep the tank cycled and a little extra food will make sure the bactria is high enough to handle a single or a couple small fish when needed.

Cool. I'd just like to avoid keeping any fish in there, and since the shrimp just pretty much chill out at the bottom of the tank I thought they'd be an OK choice. I'm starting to put a lot of money into the hobby and would hate to put a disease-ridden fish into a tank full of other fish.
-Thanks for the help!

i wouldnt put any fish in there, put the quarantine tank filter into the main tank and when you need to use it for the quarantine tank, move it there, that way it will always have bacteria in it and will be able to hold fish. Also medications arent good for shrimp, especially copper sulphate

Do you think that it would be a good idea to put a UV steralizer on a quarantine tank? My thoughts were if the fish is sick, the germs won't mess up the water in the tank as much, and also maybe it could increase the chances of it recovering.
