Neon tetras ill
Hi, this might have been posted before so apologies if it has.
My tank is 2x1 ft and contains 13 endlers and now only 2 neons, originally i had 5
Neon 1 had what looked like a white patch over its mouth with what looked like a extremely small string protruding from it. It ended up with its face disappearing to below its eyes when it died.
Neon 2 i just found dead, no marks or anything on it
Neon 3 ive found dead tonight, but it was bloated
Neon 4 had similar to neon 1 but its has big open sore on its gill cover and its swimming ok with neon 5

My local dealer has carried out water tests for me which have come back ok and gave me melafix and pimafix to use, however with tetras keep dropping dead on me am i going to lose all of them?

Endlers are going round ok so far

Welcome to TFK, I'm sorry you're having problems with your tetras. I'm not familar with the symptoms you're describing and what illness it could be. I'm sure someone else here does. How long has your tank been set up? I know you said your dealer said your water parameters were "ok" but that doesn't really give us any good info to go by. What is the ph of your tank, do you know? I know that neons are sensitive to ph and water hardness.

my ph was around 7.5 last time i checked.
My tanks been up and running since mid feb.

I'll try and get a pic up of the tetra with the open sore on its face up on the thread

Good idea, a pic goes a long way in helping people diagnose a problem.
