Can you identify this illness affecting my goldfish's mouth?
I have a medium sized freshwater tank that houses 3 goldfish and 5 white cloud mountain minnows. My oldest goldfish (I've had him 4 years) has a white and black mouth, and a slightly cloudy right eye. The eye was cloudy first, began to get better, then the mouth turned black and now is slightly white too. I'm not sure what's wrong. The othergoldfish seem fine, if a little jumpy. I've completed 2, 25% water changes in the past week and have put some sera ectopur salt in the aquarium. Photo of goldfish's mouth attached. Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated.
Don't know what the disease is, but clean water always helps. I'd continue with the water changes and maybe make them even a bit more frequent for the time being unless someone diagnoses it and that is not the route to go.
Also, idk what size "medium sized" is, but it may be too small for the 3 gold fish and could be causing disease..
