Any fish that will eat fish babies but not adult fish..
Anyone know of any? Gouramis? Others?
Almost all fish eat fish babies... O.O
you have a livebearer population explosion?
If your tank is big enough, I'd say angelfish or in a smaller tank, maybe a Betta.
Almost all fish eat babies.. yep, and I wish the existing adults would do just that but for whatever reason, they seem to ignore the fry (aforetimes I've seen them catch the fry).
And yes, I am starting to have a population explosion.
I have thought of angelfish, but don't trust them around adults either. I have had angelfish in the past and each time they ended up being the only fish in the tank. I just can't catch the little buggers in the main tank.
I do not know how much luck I'd have on giving them back to a fish store.. Don't care that much about selling them, just trying to avoid having to deep six them. There is just so much room.
I am going to have to think about devising a fish trap, but trying to catch fry is like trying to catch a fly with chopsticks.
Thanks for the suggestions. I may just put an oscar in the other tank and feed it what I can catch.
Pretty much any cichlid will eat fry. Oscars require a lot of space.
I have ghost shrimp, and they eat guppy fry occasionally.
