Quick questions

I was wondering if running my lights from 830 am till 7 pm is too long for my plants. I have amazon swords and java ferns. I was also thinking about adding some Sagittaria. I have 2 Bright Effects 7-Watt Tubalar CFL 40-Watt Replacement in the hood. Let me know what you think.

That's 10.5 hours if I added correctly. That is an OK amount of time. Unless you start getting algae you can reduce the time.

I don't think that's too long of light duration nor too intense lights. I run my tanks 12hrs/day and have the very named plants in there incl the Sagt w/out any issues.

Ok cool cause I had them running for longer than that but i started getting algae so I bought a timer. The algae is starting to clear up now so it seems to be working well.
