new additions in the new 30 gal. i just bought a pair of kribensis about a week ago, and just last night as i was turing off the lights i saw the male "fastly" brushing up against the ground and on the drift wood, everyone else seems fine though. does this sound familiar? |

well there are no signs of white spots just the violently rubbing against things. |
The ich parasite has 3 stages- First the freeswimming stage finds a fish, and burrows in, and begins eating its flesh. When it's had a nice meal (a couple days at normal temps) then it goes to the surface of the fish and makes a "spot" that's actually a cyst. After a few more days, the cyst falls off. Then, finally, from 300 to 1000 new baby parasites hatch and look for a fish to feed off of. Could very well be the early stages... Watch carefully over the next week for spots. |
