Breeding bristlenose for profit?
What would you say is the minimum tank size for breeding BNs? I have a large male I have had from him being tiny, and am thinking of getting an albino female of similar size to breed with him. I would want to keep both adults and breed them every so often, I can keep them in separate tanks if necessary. I've read they are quite easy to breed and you don't see a lot of them round here, especially albinos so I could probably sell them easily. Even if I don'tmake any money I am still very interested in this. Anyone got any suggestions/advice?

i have a 38 gal (us gal) tank mine only breed in an old castle i got for free. i have lots of other places they jst dont breed in. yes they r very easy to breed. once they start they wont stop they will breed every 2 wks or so. mine jst had about 38 fry come out about 4 days ago. last night they bred again only about 10 eggs this time. i find having the heater to about 26 degrees for 3-4 days and have a 35% water change on the forth day turn it down to 22 degrees this should help alot to get them to breed.
They are easy to breed, but making a profit is a different issue. Fry are a lot of work. If you want a profit you are going to want a fry tank and a grow out tank. BNs are pretty slow growing fish and you are going to be selling them at 1.5 inches or larger if you want stores to take them. To get the best growth these tanks are going to need to have lots of water changes. At best you will probably break even. I raise fish and plants and break about even. If are a lot more work and normally don't sell for as much as plants shrimp too shrimp are good if I sell them online.
Yeah I have the tank space and am thinking about getting another tank for the initial breeding (with no gravel). If I breed a normal brown BN with an albino, I have read I should get around half and half babies is that correct?
Like I say, I'm not too bothered about selling them for a profit, I'm just interested, obv that would be a bonus! I have plenty of food and everything I need already as I have three tanks atm anyway so I shouldn't have to spend much.
Ok I got a normal BN female today, about same size as my male. What size will they breed at?
