my discus are always hungry
Hello, so we have had these 6 discus (young) for about 2 months now and they are awesome. However, they seem to always be hungry! I feed them once in the morning around 9, then when i get home around 6 and sometimes before they go to bed around 10. Each feeding is a block of frozen brine shrimp, red or white mosquito larvae, or beef heart. Just after I feed them they are looking at me as if they are still hungry. These are the only fish in the tank (other than the pleco and a bunch of shrimp/snails). Am I feeding them enough? Thanks!

i've never kept discus but a good appetite cant be a bad thing most ciclids are aware of whats going on outside the tank and will watch you if your worried about how much there eating double the amount or add some dry food aswell the pleco, snail, shrimp combo will clean up any leftovers

all fish are always hungry, they dont normally get 1 or 2 square meals a day in the wild, 1 square meal a week is the average in the wild so they need to constantly look for food. Three things matter in a fishes life, survival from prey, breeding, and finding food, They will beg but dont give in, only feed required amount.

ok so 3 blocks a day of mixed foods as stated above should be ok? They look and act healthy so I assume they are...

if there color is fine, and there bellies seem to be a tiny tiny bit fat but not too fat and deffinatly not caved in, then i'll say there getting enough food....
