African Butterfly Fish
i hear that they will eat/bully any smaller fish that venture towards the top. does anyone have any first hand expirience with how small a fish has to be to be eaten?

I would guesstimate that anything less than 1/2 the size of the butterfly might become dinner.

haha I actually had my fist experiance with this last night, right after my post about this same thing, I suppose my ABF got a little hungry, anddd decided my neons were quite tasty :(

thats a shame! i did loads of research before getting the fish and found somewhere anything significantly larger than a neon would be fine. im glad I listened to what the research said and covered all the holes in the top because i hear him clunk hish hear on it a lot

Glad you got it all set up :) I wasn't 100% sure about them myself because I haven't kept any yet... am planning on getting 1 or 2 in a few months.

by all means get one! i love good old clyde. he's still a bit skittish around me, but i hear they gey tame to the point where ou can hand feed them. they will make sure you have some hiding places by the top, he isnt out and about too often. he is a lazy fish, but really cool looking and a nice addition. get a top view of one and youll see why they call them butterflyfish
