My fish had babies, 1 survivor. This morning when I went to feed my platys I noticed something skimming the surface, I was the most shocked a person could be when I saw it was a fry. I scooped it up and put in a container till I get one of those floating fry boxes. Wow ! What a great start to the day. :-D |
Fantastic! Do you know who the parents are? |
Hahaha no I'm clueless. Do the fry look like the parents? The baby is white, nearly see through, except for those huge black eyes though lol. Pregnant when I bought her then so who knows. 3 female red calicos, 2 female mickey mouse, 1 blue tuxedo female. 1 male mickey mouse. I'll find out if the little thing can hide out for a few more weeks. It stays inside the driftwood where no one can fit. |
How cute. Try to post a pic. if he or she ever comes out of hiding. |
1 Attachment(s) 1 of the 2 surviving fry. I think they were born yesterday in the early a.m. |
It's probably going to be white or gold or orangish colored when it grows up. Platies are so fun to raise because they can get such different colors. Most fish are mostly colorless at birth, except sometimes black if they are going to be black. Anyways, congrats!! :D Keep us updated on it. |
I thought there was only 1 baby till I saw another hiding in a corner ! Maybe tomorrow another will show itself. |
My bet he's a white mickey. If mum was in a tank with only her color, then his dad's likely a mickey too. |
If it was a MM I'd love it. Except my red calicos are the plump looking ones. UPDATE 3 baby fry now. All safe in the fry box. |
yay congrats!! i might be getting a couple bumblebee platies and omg am i gonna breed them!! i want pure black platies or pure yellow ones after a couple generations.as for ur baby yea i think MM but just not a full mickey maybe the da was a mickey and the mom was a tuxedo |
