QT New Fish Before Putting Them In Main Tank
I always QT all my new fish but I got rid of all my smaller tanks and decided to just put some guppies in my main 55 gal. Community tank. My Uv/Clarifiers UV is not working because I broke the glass  Quartz sleeve and needed to get a new one.
This is what happened a few days after getting the guppies 1 male died could not find the body in my tank. I guess my Assassin snails got it as I have 12+ in the tank. A few days after that I lost 6 Von Rio Congo Tetras out of my 11, Then came 2 lg. Boesmani Rainbow fish, and yesterday I lost 1 Sunset Angelfish. I overnighted a new Submariner UV Sterilizer/Clarifier from Drsfostersmith as I will be leaving on vacation tomorrow. I have my grown kids to watch the fish for 4 days before they come up and visit us on vacation. The fish will be here for 5 days. I have a gel feeder while gone. I'm hoping that the UV Steriizer kicks in and I do not loose anymore fish. I did 1/4 water change the other day and used a API test kit and everything is ok. I QT the Boesmani Rainbow in a 6 gal. tank with Pimafix/Melafix but they did not seem to get better and 1 died and the other one I had to put down as it was not eating and looked really bad.
I just wanted to stress not to Bypass the QT when you get new fish as this all could have been avoided and you know what they say you learn from your mistakes. Hopefully this will help someone else. I'm going to QT for 3 or more weeks to be on the safe side.
Sorry to here about you loses.
