Looking to Buy - 100+Gal
So I'm working on arrangements to put a large tank in my home. I'm finding though that I'm spending a LOT of money and not doing as much research as I could. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone here can help me with. Thanks for reading.
-Glass or acryllic? Why, or why not?
-I'm using the tank as a room divider, so the thin side will be facing the wall, and the filter in/out will have to be on that side. I can cut holes in a wood stand, but a lot of the larger tanks I'm seeing have support panes on the sides- it's going to look really ugly to have my in/out come that far across the top of the tank, instead of hooking downward.
-I've seen "bullet" tanks, which is pretty much what I'm looking for- but it needs to be rectangle shaped, not round. Can anyone share resources on this?
-I'm wanting to stock with rarer fish. Browsing the forums here, I've found Aquabid.com, any advice buying from there, or any other fish buying resources? One pet I really want is a Mexican Axlotl (huge Dune fan, HAVE to have one).
Sounds awesome!! Might want to look at these links:
Oh and there is a link to tank manufacturers in the right side nav bar.
Also some good info on the fish I keep if you poke around in the site or the links in my sig. Same thing...lol
Good luck. Feel free to post to the blog any comments you may have, and let me know in this forum if you need any other ideas on large tanks and fish.:-)
PS that salamander was in Dune? The movie or the book?
