Start out with a dozen hermits, maybe half a dozen nassarius snails and a few cerith snails. That would be a good start to see how they fare on your tank...

i was told to buy turbo snails. are cerith snails better?

Your tank is too fresh for turbos. Cerith snails have a less demanding diet.

personally im a fan of not using any crabs, including hermits but a large mixture of different kinds of snails. i also like a skunk cleaner shrimp in my tank but i would wait to get one of those.
