ToFin Bubble Wall Dead Section

I'm having issues with a 18" TopFin bubble wall, I thought it was an isolated issue, but when I returned the first one and got a second one the same thing happened.

The section with the airline attachment flows bubbles fine, the extension, however does not. When I switch the sections around the air pump, it skips the section closest to the airline and goes back to the good one.

i have a top fin XP-30 air pump.

Any suggestions?

This happens with the bubble wall level, angled, all kinds of ways too.

The air takes the path of least resistance, and the resistance to air flow in your two wand sections don't match. Maybe one section has a different porosity, or is clogged by algae or mineral build up. From the pictures it looks like one section is darker, I'd guess it's older and you added an extension to it?

So if the extension piece is new, you need to replace the other piece as well so they'll match.

Actually the picture is of the brand new one from Petsmart so there's nothing old and I wouldn't imagine there would be algae in it....
