Auratus

So suppose i want to do Auratus only tank, 75 gallons.

I read java ferns and anubias are usually safe with cichlids, and I want to get plants to outline the tops of the rock formation tied on with fishing line or something. How do these guys do with plants? What kinds?

Ive got 40 or 50 pounds of that aragonite sand so far. Can I use live sand? Or should I go with black tahitian moon sand? (I want to darken the substrate some)

I really like the look of lace rock so Ive been buying that. About how much rock should I be putting in?

Thanks in advance, if I think of more ill add to it.

Hello
Yes you could start with 1 male 3 females and they will breed.
Now with plants african cichlids will Eat most plants. In all of my cichlid tank i use one or two Fake plants. Because when breeding the males will Dig holes in the sand. They will up root the plants.
I use lace rock to I have about 150 Lbs of lace rock in my 75 gallon. But i have 6 differnt breed of cichlids in there.
I wouldnt use live sand. Play sand would work just fine orThe black sand you have mentiond should work ok.
